PLANETKULT Phase 2
Acker-Akademie: Terraforming Earth
The PLANETKULT series is an artistic-scientific experiment structured in three consecutive phases: Dialogue, Acker Academy, and Theatre. Across these different formats, art and science come together to explore possible futures of life on Earth. We ask what new forms of coexistence might look like—between humans, other species, and their environment.
In collaboration with Floating University Berlin, the second phase focuses on key questions concerning the future of agriculture, food, and planetary ecology. It starts from the idea that “terraforming” may not be a distant, speculative concept, but something that has already been taking place on Earth for a long time—beginning with the Neolithic Revolution and the development of agriculture—and considers the implications this has for both the present and the future.
While tech visionaries dream of colonizing other planets, PLANETKULT turns its attention back to Earth: Do we need a new “Green Revolution”? Should we move beyond agriculture and produce food in laboratories? Or do future perspectives lie in regenerative approaches such as “Natural Farming”? And what role does humanity play in the potential restoration—or dismantling—of ecological systems?
