WARLAB

andcoLAB

andcompany&Co. and the Ensemble MAE declare / explain the war … to be over! “I take a shit on the order of the world!” says Johann Fatzer in Brecht’s radical fragment and decides to desert at the end of the first world war. But how to desert from the current war: the fourth world war according to some. The fifth to others. However we count or call it, it seems to be common sense that we are in war – no matter if it is a “new cold war” or a “hot peace” – where is the exit from this ‘global theatre of war’? Follow Johann Fatzer!

From time to time andcompany&Co. work with artists from various backgrounds in collaborative situations in so-called &Co.LABs. This time they collaborate with the visual artist Jan Brokof (Berlin) and musicians from the contemporary music ensemble MAE (Amsterdam) and the actress Mijke Werkema about the theory & practice of new and old wars. In Mülheim, Amsterdam and Berlin they work with Brechts fragment Fatzer and his war fibula. In summer andcompany&Co. will perform Fatzer in Brazil: FATZER BRAZ!
